"A Nightmare on My Street" is the third single from DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince's second studio album, He's the DJ, I'm the Rapper. The song became a crossover hit in the US, reaching #15 on the Hot 100.
The song was released as a single in early 1988. The album version contained a longer version then the single and had additional lyrics. Unfortunately, that version was only on the Vinyl and Audio Cassette Tape releases of the album. The CD version contained the shorter single version. When a Greatest Hits Compilation was released, they restored the missing verses back into Nightmare On My Street, making it about 5:12. Unfortunately, they edited some of the instrumental portions between the verses out, so you still didn't get the full version.
